Episode 24: Metal Gear Memories with Gene from Pixelated Audio

Join us for an entertaining look at the world of Metal Gear Solid and a collection of the series’ incredible music.

Gene, cohost of Pixelated Audio, contacted The VGMbassy in late 2018 with the desire to visit the Metal Gear Solid series of games on the podcast. Ed, having very little experience with Hideo Kojima’s masterworks, was anxious about doing a show featuring something he knew so little about, but also excited to finally make some sense of the games’ complex characters and storylines. What ensued was not only an entertaining look at the world of MGS and a collection of incredible pieces of music, but a tribute to Gene’s dear friend Jared who passed away shortly after the show was recorded. Jared introduced Gene to the Metal Gear series, and you’ll hear several stories about the two friends bonding over Snake’s adventures. The VGMbassy offers sincere condolences to Gene, Jared’s family, and his friends, and we hope this show helps his memory live on.
