Episode 80: Codemasters’ Quattro Games Series

Ed explores all twelve games across the entire Quattro NES series, as well as a few detours to listen to some amazing music from ports on other systems.

Codemaster’s Quattro Games series hit the NES market in the early 1990’s as entries in their Aladdin Deck Enhancer series. Each of the three unlicensed carts had four titles, and each one centered around a theme: Sports, Adventure, and Arcade. The games were of varying quality, but the soundtracks from Gavin Raeburn, Ashley Hogg, and cohorts wowed any gamer fortunate enough to check these carts out. On today’s show, Ed explores all twelve games across the entire Quattro NES series, as well as a few detours to listen to some amazing music from ports on other systems. Mix in a little Codemasters history and a quick Aladdin Deck Enhancer tech showcase, and you’ve got yourself a fun and informative VGMbassy episode!
