Knees bent. Elbows out. Head down. Thumbs locked…. SWWIIING!
WOW, is that a birdie? Or a Birdo?
Mario and golf go hand-in-hand. The Nintendo mascot and his skittish little brother have been hitting the links since 1984! With the recent release of Mario Golf: Super Rush on the Switch and over 35 years’ worth of putts, sand traps, and water hazards behind him, Ed felt like it was time to celebrate the music of The Greatest Game. Early on, the Mario Golf series featured well-known composers like Koji Kondo and Zelda II’s Akito Nakatsuka. Later on, the reigns were handed over to maestro Motoi Sakuraba, whose incredible versatility has culminated in wildly varied, always amazing video game scores. Ed invited his Arcane Machine cohost and XVGM Radio guy Justin to grab some balls, share some sweet tunes, and talk about the history of Mario Golf.
